The dawn of new Arkkadia
The party arrived at the castle of Arkkadia. An old man leads the party
to a hidden room in the castle, for which he was given the keys by an
old friend.
The old man looked around the room. It was bare, full of dust and bad
memories. He thought of Ardios, his wise friend who was gone now. Grief
burdened him. He was still looking at the door.
“Wait a minute… what is that inscription over there?” the man thought to
himself. He looked confused. “Jodo, help me read the inscription on the
door. My eyes are not as good as they were in my youth”.
Old man pointed to the inscription on the door and the squire read
slowly in a heavy voice:
“They will play the game,
The game of tactics and reason,
They will play the game,
Until one will prevail!”
Old man’s eyes widened and he got his color back in his pale face, just
like Arkkadian youth when they learn to play a new game.
“I understand now, Ardios my friend, why you brought me to this place in
the middle of nowhere. I shall keep my promise to you and bring together
the wisest and courageous of all Arkkadians. They will play the game and
the council will do its bidding. Jodo, get some writing paper we have
some invitations to write.”
The old man looked over his shoulder. He knew they will come to the
Palace of Wisdom to judge the game. To bring Arkkadians back to the
righteous way. To elect the wisest of them which will lead Arkkadia into
a new era of peace and prosperity. |
